Prof. Carlos Agelet de Saracibar, Prof. Eric Feulvarch, and Prof. Jean-Philippe Ponthot are the Guest Editors of a Special Issue of the on-line Journal Metals (IF 1.704), devoted to Computational Methods in Manufacturing Processes. Manuscripts can be submitted on-line and they will be subjected to a regular peer-review process. Deadline for submissions is 31 December 2019.

In September 2016, Webometrics has published a list of the most cited Spanish scientists. The study, based on citations from Google Scholar, includes 54 researchers of CIMNE among the 20,326 most cited scientists of Spain.

Also, we note the presence of eight CIMNE scientists in the top 1,000 list: Prof. Eugenio Oñate has the 113rd position in the list with an h-index of 63 and 14,612 citations. Prof. Antonio Gens, the 284th position; Prof. Eduardo Alonso, the 527th position; Prof. Antonio Huerta, the 533th position; Prof. Javier Oliver, the 736th position; Prof. Sergio Idelsohn, the 749th position; Prof. Ramón Codina, the 750th position; and Prof. Alex Barbat, the 993th position. Prof. Carlos Agelet de Saracibar, with an h-index of 21 and 1353 citations is on the 4334th position.

ICME 2016, Second International Workshop on Integrated Computational Materials Engineering, Barcelona, Spain, 12-15 April 2016

The Second International Workshop on Integrated Computational Materials Engineering has been held at the UPC BarcelonaTech, Barcelona, Spain, from 12-15 April 2016. The chairmen of the workshop were C. Agelet de Saracibar (CIMNE, UPC BarcelonaTech, Barcelona, Spain), M. Chiumenti (CIMNE, UPC BarcelonaTech, Barcelona, Spain), G.J Schmitz (Access e.V., Aachen, Germany), and U. Prahl (Steel Institute (IEHK), RWTH Aachen University, Germany). Some 125 participants from 22 countries from all 5 continents have attended the event. The top 5 countries, in terms of number of participants, were, Germany, USA, Spain, Japan, and UK. The programme of the Workshop included 4 plenary sessions, 10 parallel sessions on different ICME topics, and 5 sandbox scenarios on 5 selected ICME practical applications. The event was organized by CIMNE Congress Bureau.

Carlos Agelet de Saracibar has been invited to join the Editorial Board of the on-line published journal Mathematical Problems in Engineering. The most recent Impact Factor for Mathematical Problems in Engineering is 1.082 according to 2013 Journal Citation Reports released by Thomson Reuters in 2014. Mathematical Problems in Engineering currently has an acceptance rate of 41%. The average time between submission and final decision is 58 days and the average time between acceptance and final publication is 42 days.


IMPACT OF THE PAPER 'A DIRECT ELIMINATION ALGORITHM FOR QUASI-STATIC AND DYNAMIC CONTACT PROBLEMS' PUBLISHED IN 'FINITE ELEMENTS IN ANALYSIS AND DESIGN'
